The Integrity Instruments XP485-DEI optical isolated unit provides 3KV isolation, additional input power filtering and transient voltage suppressors on data lines to automatically convert your RS232 data to RS485 data for long distance multi-point transmission of up to 4,000 feet.

Designed for today’s demanding hardware and software systems these state of the art converters feature the latest design technology and utilize a high speed embedded RISC processor for reliable and hassle free operation. Automatic conversion modes are easily configured in software and all settings are saved in on board EEPROM.
The XP485-DE converter is fully micro processor controlled.
No dip switches to set!
You can software select two different automatic modes "Bit time calculated" or "Fixed baud rate" mode.
Two automatic RS-485 transmit enable modes:
Bit time calculated
Transmit turnaround is automatically controlled by calculating one byte idle time of the current baud rate.
Fixed baud rate
Transmit turnaround is automatically controlled to near zero turnaround time for a set of fixed baud rates ranging from 1200 to 115,200 baud.
